Jarvis Goes Missing PDF Print E-mail
News

In August 2008 , Jarvis the Jack Russell terrier went missing on the 865 acre Mount Edgcumbe Estate in Torpoint Cornwall after bolting into deep undergrowth.

His owner had taken the 10 minute ferry ride to the estate from Cremyll in Plymouth where the ferry runs back and forth every half hour.

She searched frantically for Jarvis , enlisting the help of an estate warden but to no avail . Eventually, the distraught owner had to return home with her granddaughter but without her dog. However, before she reached her home, Vivienne took a call from the warden to say that a dog matching Jarvis`s description had been reported  by ferry staff onboard , the dog had  crossed back and forth several times before being spotted !

She raced back to the ferry but before she got there, she received another call from her husband to say that Jarvis had made his own way home ,  jumping from the ferry at the Plymouth side and travelling the two miles to their house !
